SAS on iPhone BI Gone Mobile

Title
SAS® on iPhone® BI gone Mobile

Abstract
Apple iPhone has revolutionized mobile computing; taking smart phones to the next level with over 1 billion application downloads already in just a few months. All major websites such as Google, eBay and Amazon have their service available on an “iPhone app” rather than having the user go through a web browser. The iPhone adds a new dimension to the user experience by leveraging all existing traditional client computing features of a web browser but adds new ability to know where the user is, voice communication, multi touch screen interface, accelerometer among others innovations that raises the bar beyond web 2.0. SAS has been an analytical business intelligence powerhouse for many years yet it is a relative late comer to this mobile computing revolution. This paper will demonstrate how a traditional SAS macro and its parameters can be selected through a GUI on an iPhone and then executed with results viewed on the iPhone. Imagine how you can get to the most up to date and dynamic core business information delivered to you anywhere where there is a cell 3G signal. At last, business analytics is no longer behind walls guarded by legions of technoraties but rather it will be unleashed to users of all stripes on the go.
