Introduction
Program management is found in the study conduct area under the program icon.
Program management consists of the following functions:
- Browsing attributes of existing program objects
- Updating program attributes such as program name, header, etc...
- Creating new objects with associated program attributes
- Importing existing programs into the Trialex System
- Deleting existing program objects
- Re-ordering the order number
The following shows the dialog box with all the functions as buttons and the associated
attributes for the program.
.
Update
This will capture all the attribute information on the current program and update
the information. Note that updating the _template_ program object will affect the
next Program object created since it will use the _template_ as the starting point.
New
This creates a new program starting with attributes set by the _template_.
The following shows an example of a new program:

The update button will update all the attributes for this program to a new program
object. The cancel button will ignore the information entered and will not create a
new program object. Note that the order is defaulted to the next ordered value.
Import Wizard
This wizard will import existing programs into the Trialex System. The
first dialog box of the import wizard asks for the location of the program.

Click on the next button to to proceed with selecting the programs.

There are options to select multiple programs in the desired order. The items on
the list shown on the left are what is available in the current study. The [
>> ] button is used to move items from the available programs list to the imported
list. In a similar way, the [ << ] button is used to move items from the
imported list back.
If the program already exists in the Trialex System, the attributes will be updated
accordingly. Click on the next button and it will proceed with the import. A
status of all the programs imported will be shown.
Delete
This will delete the current program object that is being viewed. Note that
the _template_ is permanent and cannot be deleted.
Re-Ordering
This will re-order all the items found in the program object and re-assign the
order attributes with the new order numbers. The sorting order is based on the order
number. The order numbers are re-assigned to the proper order with consecutive
integers. The following example will show how non-consecutive, non-integers are
re-numbered:
Before |
After |

2.3

Note that decimals are allowed for order numbers for instances where new programs are
inserted in between existing entries. |
