Introduction
Clinical levels are defined to establish standards. They may mirror the
hierarchies implemented within an organization. Some examples of clinical levels
include:
Objects defined in a specified level will inherit attributes from any level above
it. For example, the objects defined in the project level will inherit the
attributes from the global level. In this way, standards are accomplished throughout
the hierarchy.
Levels administration is found in the administration tools area under the levels icon.
Levels administration consists of the following functions:
- Adding a new level
- Deleting an existing level
- Modifying attributes of a level
Adding A New Level
The main administration dialog box displays all the levels currently defined.
An example is shown here:

Click on the New Level button to start the new clinical level wizard.

The first entry for the clinical level is a unique short name for the level. This
will be used a a key field so use eight characters or less. The second entry is a
description of this level. Type a short phrase or a sentence describing the nature
of this level. The last item will determine the order into which this new level will
be inserted. Select the level in the list which the new level will be inserted
after.
Click the OK button for this new level to be inserted.
Deleting A Level
This is accomplished at the main administration dialog box. The delete
button is displayed next to each level. Click on the delete button corresponding to
the desired level and that level will be deleted. Note that objects defined in this
level will be deleted as well, so it is important that this is verified before deletion.
Modifying Level Attributes
This is accomplished at the main administration dialog box. The modify
button is displayed next to each level. Click on the modify button corresponding to
the desired level to start the modification. A dialog box with the existing
information will be displayed as shown:

Type the modification to the values name of the level and then click the OK button. |
