Saving Generated Code

Saving Code
All the features used in producing the data definition documentation can be generated using the graphical user interface.  However, when the task needs to be done repeatedly, it is recommended that you use the batch mode.  This is accomplished either by editing the batch program from scratch or by generating a macro call through the user interface by clicking on the "Save Code" button on the main screen.

In this example, you do not need to have the file extension for the file name.  It will automatically add the file extension of .sas.

This is available on the following screen locations.

  • Main Screen - This will produce the code to generate the code used to create the data definition documentation.
  • Get Category - This screen is available through the categorical button within the edit definition screen.  This is used to report on the categorical variables used in comments.
